German / European Patent Attorney (m/f/x) - Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and IT

To support our Team in Mannheim, we are looking for a colleague (m/f/x) qualified as German / European patent attorney in the area of physics, computer science, electrical engineering and IT for immediate placement.

Your profile

  • Diploma or master’s degree in the area of physics, computer science, electrical engineering and IT
  • Preferably admitted as German and/or European Patent Attorney (m/f/x) or shortly before admission
  • Ideally several years of professional experience gained in a patent law firm or a patent department of an industrial company
  • Excellent understanding of the relevant legal foundations
  • Keen analytical skills and judgement
  • Capable of working independently, methodically, and in a result-oriented way, a good communicator and team player, strong soft skills
  • Affinity to clearly and comprehensively articulate complicated technical issues
  • Outstanding IT skills
  • Excellent command of the German and English language preferably acquired during a longer stay abroad

Your tasks

  • As professional representative (DE/EP) you will handle all aspects of the protection of intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, and designs
  • Independent drafting, filing, and prosecution of patents and utility models worldwide
  • Evaluation and monitoring of protective rights
  • Conducting patent searches (FTO, patentability) and the analysis and evaluation thereof
  • Participation in opposition, infringement, and nullity proceedings
  • Opinions regarding patent rights as well as patent searches
